MICT Berth 7 Southern Wharf Extension & Northern Yard Development

Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) is one of the three terminals in the Port of Manila (the core of the country’s port system) and is known to be the largest and most modern container terminal in the Philippines. As part of the MICT upgrade, BAUER Foundations Philippines, Inc. (BFPI) was contracted for the soil improvement works in the Southern Wharf Extension and Northern Yard Development.

Bauer was awarded with the design and construction of soil improvement works for the 3,025 square meters reclaimed area, done through Vibro Compaction consisting of 1014 points from elevation +4.3m to elevation -18.8m, and 616 points from elevation +2.2m to elevation -10.5m. Quality measures such as application of B-Tronic software ensured that the construction procedure follows the project specifications and standard requirements. Cone Penetration Tests by Third Party Tester were also done to verify the efficiency of compaction.
