NovaBala Aqueduct 4

In Quezon City, one of the Philippine’s largest water supply infrastructures is being constructed. With 7.3 km and 3.1 diameter tunnels and underground aqueduct will be capable of conveying 1000 million liters per day. The NovaBala Aqueduct 4 (NBAQ4) is Metro manila’s first tunnel built using a tunnel boring machine (TBM). Bauer Philippines was commissioned with designing and constructing the TBM launch shaft using a Secant Pile Wall with 22 primary pikes and 22 secondary piles to a depth of 47 m. Our experts also completed capping beams and bulk excavation. For the outlet shaft, Bauer Philippines installed 20 primary piles and 20 secondary piles to 29 m depth. Using a BG 40 and a drilling inclination system (DIS) on all piles, the specialists made sure to measure the verticality and ensure that each pile is withing the design tolerance.
